Business Insurance

Do you know all the different insurance your business needs?

What insurance does my business need?

This is a really good question, and is different for each business. At a minimum you’ll need public & products liability to suffice the most basic requirements. But, for most business owners this is not the only cover they should have. There are many things that can destroy a business in the blink of an eye. Usually this means taking out a number of covers from a basic, intermediate and advanced level.

Our firm lives in the real world and understands most business owners don’t have unlimited funds to spend on insurance. This is where we assist clients rank their policy requirements from most important, to least important and help them through the decision making process. This occurs every year through consultation with your account manager as these needs and priorities can change.

Please read on to discover all the different covers we can assist with.

Basic Covers

Public & Products Liability Insurance

If you sell, repair, service or deliver goods, you also have a responsibility if the goods cause damage or injury. The implications of a third-party injury or property damage caused by you or an employee could result in a significant financial loss to you and your business.

Business Package Insurance

We know that every business is different so we’ll look at your business holistically and put together a package of insurance products to meet your unique needs. We can assess which aspects of each policy are relevant to you, and exclude or include sections that are most appropriate for your business.

Management / Directors & Officers Insurance

Directors and Officers are often the face of the company, handling large transactions and making major decisions. This type of cover protects you personally as a director or officer from the financial and reputational costs of regulatory or legal action. Whether or not you are ultimately found liable, the cost of defending such proceedings can be considerable.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

Professional Indemnity insurance covers your business and employees from claims made for financial loss or personal damages arising from an act, error, omission, or breach of professional duty made while giving professional advice. It can also help cover the legal costs of a court action.

Personal Accident & Illness Insurance

Accidents happen. But if you can’t work as usual due to accident or illness, the last thing you need to be worrying about is paying the bills. It makes sense to get all the cover in place now, so you can concentrate on recovery should you need to.

Commercial Motor Insurance

Your vehicle does more than get you from one place to another; it’s an integral part of your daily business activity. Commercial motor use and ownership need specialist insurance cover so that if something happens, your business isn’t disrupted and you’re not left without transport, or out of pocket.

Intermediate Covers

Contract Works

Contract Works Insurance, sometimes called ‘Construction All Risks Insurance’, can cover the interest of all parties involved in a construction project, including the project owner, general contractor, subcontractors, and can also cover materials and equipment suppliers.

Plant & Equipment Insurance

As a Mobile Plant Operator, you have valuable assets that need to be adequately protected. We can arrange a comprehensive insurance package to cover a range of risks and exposures that you face, including damage to your own equipment or legal liability protection.

Cyber Insurance

Cyber damage is now one of the costliest forms of risk facing Australian companies, with  50% of business reporting at least one cyber incident in the past year. As technology becomes more and more essential to running a business and cybercrime evolves, it pays to have an up-to-date insurance policy to ensure you’re protected.

Property Owners / Commercial Strata Insurance

Asset protection is a key component to managing any property portfolio. Obtaining the “right” cover is key to protecting the property, revenue and legal liabilities.

Cargo / Carriers Insurance

Whether you’re importing, exporting, moving or delivering goods by sea, air, rail, road, post or courier, your cargo or cargo of others is at risk of damage or loss. So it pays to protect your business from an unexpected financial blow.

Industrial Special Risks (ISR) Insurance

Industrial Special Risks (ISR) insurance is an ‘industrial strength’ commercial insurance policy designed to cover the widest range of accidental loss or damages typically faced by large single or multi-location businesses.

Advanced Covers

Machinery Breakdown Insurance

If you’re a manufacturing business your machines are the lifeblood of your business. Without them, your business would be in trouble. We can source comprehensive breakdown cover including loss of income following a breakdown.

Pollution / Environmental Insurance

Pollution or Environmental insurance is a type of insurance that covers costs relating to Pollution of Environmental Damage. This can include the costs of brownfield restoration and cleanup, liability for injuries and deaths caused by pollution.

Medical Malpractice Insurance

This is a highly complex and challenging field. Medical Malpractice Liability Insurance can protect you whether you are a medical centre, clinic, day surgery or hospital, or as a healthcare professional.

Product Recall Insurance

Having a product recalled due to public safety concerns and brand management is a costly business. Recalls can be triggered by a manufacturing or design error in the product, malicious tampering, malicious publicity, extortion or Government recall.

Trade Credit Insurance

Trade Credit insurance can protect your business from the financial loss of a bad debt. This provides cover for your unpaid invoices from a customer that has entered bankruptcy. Sometimes this cover is called debtor insurance or export credit insurance.

Surety Bonds

Surety bonds are a viable alternative to bank guarantees or letters of credit, improving the liquidity of your business by freeing up bank lines for working capital and possible acquisition financing.
