What Insurance do Tradies need?
When it comes to business insurance Tradies will need at a minimum Public and Products Liability Insurance. The cost may actually surprise you that given the risk involved it’s not usually that expensive as insurers compete heavily in this space for most occupations.
However, that’s not where most Tradies should stop when it comes to their insurance. We can also add on the following covers to a package you can either pay annually or monthly depending on your cash flow requirements.
–Tools or General Property Insurance as it’s more commonly described can cover Tradies Tools Australia Wide, on or off a job site, and whilst locked up or not. Similar to Public and Products Liability Insurance this cover usually isn’t that expensive and you may not even need to list ever tool if they’re under $2,500 in value.
–Personal Accident & Illness Insurance is a complicated one. Ideally we say to clients the best option is usually for them to seek a full blown cover from a qualified financial adviser for Death, Permanent Disability, Trauma and/or Income Protection. However, Tradies can often be transient with their work arrangements and often find it hard to produce proof of a steady income stream to suffice personal insurance companies. This is where a Personal Accident & Illness Insurance policy may be the only option a customer needs to get them on a job site.
–Motor Vehicle Insurance is another cover we like to take care of for our clients. Apart from only having 1 number to ring in the event of a claim, ours. We can make sure things like Hire Vehicle, Glass Cover, Modifications and Accessories, Signwriting and others are all correctly covered.
Ask yourself one question. Does your insurer or broker provide all of the following?
Complimentary no obligation insurance review
Advice and Recommendations based on your individual circumstances
Marketing of your insurance to local and international insurers
Claims advocating meaning you don’t have to deal with insurers
Premium funding and extended credit terms
Personal Account Manager to handle all your enquiries
“The big 4 covers we see tradies take out are:
1. Public / Products Liability Insurance
2. Tools or as it’s known General Property Insurance
3. Personal Accident & Illness Insurance
4. Motor Vehicle Insurance to cover their work vehicle
We’re happy to work with tradies with an combination of covers that fit their budget and requirements.”
